Oakwood Needs Your thoughts!
Posted: March 7, 2012 Filed under: Adult Ministries, Christian Education, Empty Nesters, Men's Ministry, Oakwood Family, Small Groups Ministry, TnT - Twenties and Thirties Ministry, Women's Ministry Leave a comment »At Oakwood, our weekly bulletin says, “Come, Grow, Serve.” We’d like to collect some information on how we can better meet and exceed your needs related to “Grow.” Probably one of the most well-known verses related to this topic comes from Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Discipleship is one key way by which we are transformed into His likeness to reflect His glory and follow His will.
Please click here to complete this survey. Just a few minutes will give us insight into how we can better serve you in this way and invite you to help us serve the rest of Oakwood. Should you have any questions, please contact Todd Sazdoff at (952) 200-2590 or sazdoff@gmail.com.

MEN’S STUDIES
Men’s Fraternity | Robert Lewis
Men’s Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood is a 24-session study that focuses on a man’s core identity and gives an overview of basic manhood issues. It will help men deal with various identity issues by looking back at past wounds and other things that may have distorted their idea of biblical masculinity. Throughout the course of the study, men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, “What is a man?” and “What am I living to be?” from a biblical perspective.
Facilitator: Todd Sazdoff
Meetings: every other Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; starting Jan. 21

Registration: use communication card or register at oakwoodonline.org or contact Todd at 952.200.2590 or sazdoff@gmail.com
Not A Fan| Kyle Idleman
A fan is defined as an “enthusiastic admirer.” A fan of Christ wants to be close enough to Jesus to get all of the benefits, but not so close that it requires sacrifice. Jesus was never interested in having admirers, or fans. Jesus wants followers. This study will show men the difference and teach them how to be followers, not fans.
Facilitator: Tom Wilson
Meetings: every other Thursday at 7 p.m. starting Jan. 12
Location: Ministry Center
Registration: use communication card or register at oakwoodonline.org or contact Tom at tom@imagesofcreation.net
TnT GROUPS (adults in 20s & 30s)
Don’t Waste Your Life | John Piper
Most people slip by in life without a passion for God, spending their lives on trivial diversions, living for comfort and pleasure, and perhaps trying to avoid sin. This book will warn you not to get caught up in a life that counts for nothing. It will challenge you to live and die boasting in the cross of Christ and making the glory of God your singular passion. If you believe that to live is Christ and to die is gain, read this book, learn to live for Christ, and don’t waste your life!
Facilitators: Pastor Andreas and Jennifer Custer
Meetings: starting Jan. 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and then it meets the first and third Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
